Over a cup of the most popular drink in the world, from the 18th century onwards, our world has debated ideas, closed business deals, spread gossip or simply found the energy to start the day. A habit in which Venice has played an important role (although, contrary to what Florian’s website asserts, the Venetian coffee is only the second oldest in Europe, after “cafè Procope” in Paris).
Just a few steps from the “Florian”, at the Fondazione Bevilacqua la Masa, you can get closer to the places and the people of coffee through the images of the great Brazilian photographer Sebastiao Salgado, in the exhibition Scent of a Dream.
The exhibition will run until September, 27th, Wednesday to Sunday. Admittance is free.
