Only a week away to the beginning of the 72nd edition of the Venice film festival, certainly the most important film event of the fall. This year’s program promises to be interesting, don’t be fooled by the official poster (no, the person depicted is not David Bowie, they say it’s Nastassija Kinski…). The opening film, the challenge of the mountain told in Everest Baltasar Kormakur Audition, new must-Scorsese (not in competition), the family stories of the Blood of Marco Bellocchio, the new awaited masterpiece by Russian master Alexander Sokurov. All this without forgetting young authors, animation movies (the disturbing Anomalisa, written by Charlie Kaufman, no less) and documentaries.
And if you don’t want to face cinephile’s hard work, avoiding long lines and crowded screenings, you can still experience the atmosphere of the festival, strolling on the Lido’s promenade, between the Casino and the Hotel Excelsior, hoping to meet Juliette Binoche, Keira Knightley or Leo DiCaprio…
